根据同名小说《松林异境》改编的悬疑惊悚剧，故事描述特工处探员Ethan Burke来到乡村小镇Wayward Pines寻找两名神秘失踪的联邦探员。他没有得到想要的答案，反而遇到了更多的问题。这个地方就像有某种魔力一般，Ethan距离真相越近，就越丧失自我——就连他的性格都变了。他不得不面对可怕的现实：他可能永远无法活着离开这地方。
本剧讲述了30多岁的两位主角，通过一款美食家交友APP认识后，一同踏上了美食之旅。两人一边享受着西班牙干腌火腿、日本拉面和世界各地的美食，一边了解着彼此。对日本香橙的共同喜爱，对美食家装模作样的厌恶，让两人心灵相通，但两人过往感情留下的伤疤所激发的不安感和摇摆不定，可能会阻止他们品尝到真爱的味道。
紀錄片導演班博曼原本想拍一部關於80年代紅極一時的魔術師「犀利喬納森」(The Amazing Johnathan) 的紀錄片。但當被拍者反客為主，故佈迷陣把導演耍得暈頭轉向，這個亂局可以怎樣收科？事緣最初喬納森被診斷患上心臟病，只剩下一年命，被迫退休；但三年後，喬納森死唔去，決定東山再起。導演班博曼於是決定追蹤拍攝他的復出巡迴表演，豈料喬納森突然玩嘢，將班博曼殺個措手不及，令拍攝工作遇上許多未知數和障礙。但班博曼將局面扭轉，順勢進一步探討何謂真相，何謂假象。看來導演才是真正的魔術師，化腐朽為神奇把差點爛尾的紀錄片起死回生！
